Christmas Past Wrapping Paper

A holiday wrapping paper set inspired by Christmas past.

I absolutely love holiday-themed projects, so I chose to design a set of holiday wrapping papers and use that project as a foundation for my first Skillshare class.

COMPANY | Self-directed project

ROLE | Illustration

SCOPE | A set of three holiday wrapping papers

The challenge

There's nothing like recording a tutorial to make you realize you still have a lot to learn!

I start a lot of my design work by free-writing words that I want to be associated with the final product.

My childhood Christmases were infused with vintage cookies, ornaments & music, so I drew upon that to create this set.

The concepts

COOKIE SWAP

was inspired by a vintage Betty Crocker cookie book I grew up with

SHINY BRITE

was an ode to the retro white fake Christmas trees and the ornament brand

CHRISTMASTIME IN THE CITY

was my vision of the holiday city streets in the song "Silver Bells"

The results?

I didn’t end up selling this set, but the Skillshare class I created with it has gone super well!
